Hi, my name is Shakira Wallmar and I would like to share with you my story about growing up as a Latina and How my Family matters to me. My parents are both of the Puerto Rican decent and I always had this preconceived notion that I was going to be poor for the rest of my life. My parents both worked very hard to put food on the table until one day they both were disabled and had to live on workers compensation the rest of their lives. We struggled, I knew my parents were struggling, I just was too young to do anything about it. I was determind to go to college and become educated in order to live a better lifestyle, so I did this for 15 years working for Corporate America.

While working in Corporate America, I began a family. I'm married to a wonderful man named Johnny The economy began to suffer and the company I was employed with was cutting costs and laying off workers. I was a little stressed about losing my job in all honesty but then I started to realize that I was not spending time with my family. My husband worked a 2nd shift position and my son was in daycare for 10 hours a day. As I thought back on my life and how I grew up, I can always remember that even though my parents were disabled to work, they were home with us and it made for the most memorable moments in my life.

I then decided to leave my Corporate America job and become a work at home mom. Being at home and collecting unemployment was ok for a while, but I knew that we would not be able to survive with just my husband's income. I needed to earn income but how?

I was never interested in doing home parties or even going to some of them (depending on the products) and never had the desire to sell anything to my friends and family. I wanted to do something that didn't require selling and that I can do it all from the comfort of my home and really have the time that I needed to spend with my family. I came to realize that spending 12 hours a day at a job and never seeing my family was not worth it. I was going through too much stress and not getting paid enough. I began my online research for work at home opportunities and came across many of them, some of them of course sounded too good to be true and they were.

Muchos ninos y familias hoy estan sufriendo por perdidas de sus trabajos y estas perdidadas estan causando trauma en nuestros hijos. Vamos a cambiar la situacion para nuestros hijos y vivir una vida mejor para ellos.
